Following the opening act, the Kenny Hill Band came on to perform. The band’s Americana and bluegrass sounds made the celebration of Independence Day come to life as the audience members danced to the music.
An optimist in the age of “great acceleration,” I am an educator, innovator, author, technologist, futurist, and musician. I believe in nurturing the best aspects of humanity - love, empathy, passion, curiosity and creativity. Since 1996, it has been my pleasure and privileged to teach tens of thousands of students at FSU in courses focusing on technology and design. I have authored several textbooks and designed an online learning framework for online teaching and learning to better meet the needs of GenZ. I am the Founder and Director of the Innovation Hub at Florida State University where I teach Design Thinking and connect students with opportunities for innovation.
